Kirsten Becker Davis

Rehearsal Accompanist

Kirsten Becker Davis is a classical pianist, teacher, and composer from southern New Hampshire, celebrated for her thoughtful musical approach, dynamic collaborations, and innovative compositions. At a young age, Kirsten fell in love with performing, programming her first 60-minute solo classical recital at age twelve.

A Keene State College summa cum laude alumna, Kirsten studied with Dr. Christina Wright-Ivanova (KSC), Dr. Matthew Odell (KSC), and Dr. Carleen Graff (PSU). She received prestigious awards during her undergraduate studies, including the Presser Scholar, Instrumentalist of the Year, winner of the 2020 KSC Concerto Competition, and two performing arts scholarships. From 2018–2020, Kirsten was part of the student campaign team for the Keene State College All-Steinway, All Together initiative, which came to fruition in 2024 as Keene State joined the list of All-Steinway schools.

Kirsten is currently on staff at Keene State College, where she works with pianists, vocalists, and choirs. She is also a sought-after collaborative pianist throughout New Hampshire and Vermont, partnering with independent choral programs and music festivals such as the Chamber Singers of Keene, Keene High School, Viva Bach Summer Festival in Peterborough, NH, St. Gauden’s Memorial, and West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts.

She enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion for music with aspiring students. For the past twelve years, she has taught piano, improvisation, and music theory to hundreds of students at her home studio and in private boarding schools.

Kirsten has studied composition with Dan Forrest, Dinuk Wijeratne, Dr. Heather Gilligan, and Dr. Elaine Ginsberg. Her creative portfolio boasts over seventy original works, ranging from evocative art songs to intricate chamber pieces for diverse ensembles. In her junior year of college, she penned and released her first original solo piano album. In 2022, she released a second album, featuring twelve original art songs for soprano and piano, using texts written by friends, family, and obscure poets. In 2023, Kirsten toured Vermont with her sister and collaborative vocal partner, Alyssa Choquette, debuting songs from their album Love and Thought at music venues such as Stage 33 in Bellows Falls, Epsilon Spires in Brattleboro, and the Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester, Vermont.
